Nancy (Richards) Hemeon,1949 ∼ 2019

Nancy Richards Hemeon was born on June 3, 1949 in Needham, MA.  She was the daughter of the late Marion and Karl Richards Jr.  Nancy was a 1967 graduate of Needham High School. Nancy was a long-time resident of Harwich, MA.

Nancy passed away on March 19, 2019, at Liberty Commons in Chatham surrounded by her children.  

Nancy was the wife of the late Walter C. Hemeon of Harwich. She is survived by her three children Julie O’Leary (Tim) of Dacula, Georgia; Laurie Costello (Sean) of Flowery Branch, Georgia; and Jeffrey Hemeon (Jocelyn) of Harwich, MA. Nancy was a devoted Grammie to James, Marcus, Ryan, Kate, Daniel, Drew, Claire, Peyton and David.  Additionally, Nancy leaves behind her siblings Sallie Marini (Lenny) and Bo Richards (Barbara), as well as several nieces and nephews.

In honor of Nancy’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held.  Instead, a celebration of life is being planned for the summer for the family and friends of Nancy. Summer on Cape Cod was Nancy’s favorite time of year, which is the appropriate time to remember her. Details about the celebration will be shared later with family and friends in the upcoming weeks.

Nancy’s family is so grateful for the services provided to Nancy by Hospice of Broadreach. In lieu of any flowers, the family requests those wishing to make memorial gifts do so to Broadreach Hospice in Nancy’s name.
