In Memory

Daniel C. Leavitt '68

My brother Dan Leavitt was in your class.  He passed away 3 years ago of lung cancer.  Up until that time he had a wonderful life.  Danny was a human resource manager for Global Information Technology at the Gillette Company until his death on June 3, 2005.  He was  loved by all the employees that he helped over his 19 year career at Gillette and his family was showered with their condolences and kind words at his passing.  He was  married to his wife Lillian for 20 years and adopted two babies, Shelley and Jason, who are now 18 and 15.  During his lifetime he was very committed to his synagogue community, Congregation Beth  El-Atereth Israel of Newton where he served as treasurer, vice-president, and  leader of various committees.  He stayed committed to his National Guard Unit, the Mass. 181st Infantry Division, which he joined while at Clark  University in 1970, and  from which he retired in 1993 as a Lt.  Colonel.

His interests ranged from geography and travel to American History, golfing, reading voraciously, playing piano, banjo, and spending as  much time as possible with his immediate and extended family.

Use as much or as little as you like, I just thought you'd like an update on my brother.

Best, Lisa Leavitt Lazdowsky, class of 1970
