Walter Podzka

April 18, 1948 - January 3, 2012

Walter D. "Wally" Podzka of Medway died on Tuesday, January 3rd at his home. He was 63 years old. Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Charlotte (Byrnes) Podzka. Wally was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1968. He was a US Navy, Vietnam War Veteran. Wally worked as a supervisor for Mass Highway for many years and retired in 2003. He was very instrumental in helping his son start the W. Podzka Landscape Company. Wally enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and was a car and truck enthusiast.
He was the husband of Keila and the late Alice M. (LeBlanc) Podzka and the loving father of Adam J. of Waltham, Donald R and his wife Kerri of Dedham Wayne T. and his wife Jennifer of Medway and Alicia M. Podzka of Bridgewater. Step father of Larissa and Pedro Jungenmann of Millis. Brother of Donald Podzka of Brockton and the late Richard Podzka. Grandfather of Patrick, Logan, Kathryn and Brendan Podzka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church 1360 Highland Ave Needham on Monday January 9 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Wally's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701.
