WETMORE, Lawrence Colden of Needham, 64 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

He was an electrical engineer with GTE and General Dynamics for 37 years before his retirement. He graduated from Needham High School in 1968 and Northeastern University in 1973. Larry enjoyed building and flying RC sailplanes, volunteering in the Needham School system, traveling with his family and was an assistant scoutmaster with Troop 13 Needham.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Wetmore and the devoted father of Michael Wetmore and Jennifer Riopel and her husband Jeffrey. Brother of Stephen Wetmore and his wife Cathy of Sudbury and Karen Wetmore of Walpole.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Highland Ave Needham, on Monday, January 13th at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Larry enjoyed building and flying RC sailplanes, volunteering in the Needham School system, traveling with his family and was an assistant scoutmaster with Troop 13 Needham. He was the beloved husband of Mary Wetmore and the devoted father of Michael Wetmore and Jennifer Riopel and her husband Jeffrey. Brother of Stephen Wetmore and his wife Cathy of Sudbury and Karen Wetmore of Walpole. A Funeral Service will be held in the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Highland Ave Needham, on Monday, January 13th at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. I remember Larry from high school, but even more from sunday school and "MYF", at what was then, Carter Memorial Methodist Church...fairly quiet and always the gentleman is what I remember most.  Leslie (Fisher) Terry
