Alfred B. DeIulio, 72,  of Dedham, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2022, surrounded by his devoted family. Son of the late Alfred and Kay DeIulio, Al is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Donna, and 4 daughters, Emily Nulton of San Diego, Maria Massano of Weymouth, Andrea Bartucca  (Nick) of Walpole, Suzanne O’Connell (Ryan) of Bellingham, and his dear Aunt Fran Doherty. Al will be missed dearly by his siblings, Linda Burns, Rosemarie Valentino and Michael DeIulio and by his loving extended family and friends.

A dedicated and respected member of the Needham Fire Department for 33 years, Al retired as Deputy Chief of Operations in 2011. Al was a proud member of the honor guard and, also served in the US Navy. He was mentor and hero to many and devoted his life to caring for others. No one had a bigger heart than Al and he always put others first.

In his free time, Al enjoyed fishing, in particular the fire department fishing tournament and ice fishing trips. He also loved getting out on the golf course with family and friends. Al was most happy spending time with family in his backyard tending to the garden, hopping in the pool, soaking up the hot sun, hosting cookouts and feeding anyone who came to visit. Every summer he and his family would go to Onset to vacation together at their cottage. Al was known for his good sense of humor, contagious laugh and hosting many holidays.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 26th from 4-8pm at Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave., Needham. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 27th at St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham, followed by interment at MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:00pm.
